A Very American Coup
Donald Trump’s quest to litigate his way into retaining the presidency is a lazy, baseless spectacle teeming with unsavory idiots and washed up cronies.
The effort was launched from the parking lot of a landscaping company. Time and time again, judges are laughing their individual cases out of court. When pressed to offer details or evidence of their claims, Trumpian legal eagles duck interviews and opportunities to share their truth far and wide. Others are leaking fluids from their heads.
It’s a parade of abject lunacy. It’s a low-energy, fabulously dumb slog. It’s a waste of all of our time.
Everyone — from AP to Tucker Carlson (yikes) — are emphatically stating that Joe Biden has won this election. Reality mandates that you must accept this outcome. More people voted for Biden than any other person for president in the country’s history.
This doesn’t matter. At least to a good chunk of Americans.
I’ve written before about the dangers posed by the people so fundamentally disenchanted by American life that they’ve given themselves over to their worst impulses. They will do whatever they need to do to maintain that semblance of power in the United States.
